Cloudesley Association Update

Further to my last e mail, I wanted to update you on a few matters.

Secretary:

Florence Salberter from 98C Richmond Avenue has very kindly offered to be secretary of the Association. I have had no other nominations. If anyone else would like to be considered, please let me know by the end of the week otherwise I would propose that Florence commences the role with immediate effect.

Street Representatives:

Dirk Meerstadt from 146 Cloudesley Road has kindly agreed to be the Cloudesley Road street rep. Many thanks to Dirk for offering to fill the role.

Samuel Rhodes Site:

The latest round of consultations took place last week. For those who did not attend, please note that the council had slightly adjusted the plans from the last round. The building had been moved slightly further towards the Mission Hall. I understand that the plans are being formally submitted to planning this week and should be on the Islington website within the next few days, however as of this morning the plans had not yet been uploaded – I will try and keep an eye out for it on the website and will alert you all once it appears. It will be very important that any objections to the current plans are also submitted in writing to the planning department before the planning hearing.

Cloudesley Square Church Towers:

Nick Collin from No.16 Cloudesley Square has been in touch with Islington Council and the Church of England about the church in Cloudesley Square. They have released the attached action plan for restoration work. The Church of England has offered to brief residents about the plan early in the new year – we thought it might be helpful to ask them along to our next meeting. In the short term, the blue mesh on the towers will be replaced with a less obvious grey mesh. In the long run, the mesh will be removed altogether, however this is unlikely to happen before the back end of 2016.

Constitution:

Drafting of the constitution has commenced. I am continuing to work on this with Barbara and hope to have a document to circulate within the next few weeks.

Website:

Nick Collin has kindly been putting some thought into the website. We are hoping that we can get something up and running early next year.

Foxes:

I still have not got around to speaking with pest control at the council about the foxes but it’s on my list and I will update you on that in due course.

As ever, if you know of any neighbour who is not on the Cloudesley Association e mail distribution list, please pass this e mail on and/or ask them to provide me with their contact details so that they can be kept in the loop.

Best wishes

Amanda
