The Planning Application

1. The planning application has been submitted to the local authority for the Bridge & PRU Schools with some amendments from the drawings displayed last.

The planning authority will check that it is valid before registering it. Once it has been formally registered by the planning authority, residents should have 21 days to comment. Registration might take a few days or even a week or two.

We will be checking their website regularly and will inform everyone when it has been registered.

2. Some residents will have received a notice under ‘article 11’. We are trying to gather further information on this but at this stage, according to the project manager, because they haven’t appointed a party wall surveyor and aren’t sure at to the ownership of the boundaries walls yet, they ‘thought it prudent to issue this notice in case they are party walls.’

3.The local authority is also consulting on the updated  Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPD) Islington Urban Design Guide. It is aimed to influence:

- how buildings look and fit with their setting;

- the layout and organisation of public spaces; and

- the appearance of street frontages.

Comments are due by the 30th January. Further information including how to give feedback is available on:

http://www.islington.gov.uk/services/planning/planningpol/pol_supplement/Pages/urbandesignguide.aspx

We will be familiarising ourselves with that document over the festive break and will provide an update in the new year.
